Daily News Egypt, 17 February 2016

The Egyptian government is working on a $1.5-billion rail project that will link 6th of October City, a satellite town in the Giza Governorate, to Cairo, said a report.

The rail network will be a major boost to the upcoming 40 residential blocks and six sports centers in the 6th of October City Gadens area under the government's social housing project.

The government will also ready a new plan to develop 6th of October Gardens area at an investment of E£1 billion ($127.3 million), reported the Daily News Egypt.

The plan includes establishing new water network for E£85 million ($11 million), sanitation and water treatment networks with E£332 million ($42.2 million) and expansions of currently-existing sanitation networks with E£80 million ($10.1 million).

A demand for housing for low-income people in 6th of October prompted the government to build more units in the city in 2015, it added.
