The Iraqi businessman Jawad Kassab estimated the volume of tourism investments in Jordan, at $ 1.5 billion, but he linked the increase of these investments to the facilities provided by the Jordanian government for his citizens.
Al- Kassab told the Economic site Arabian Business, this figure may increase, but this depends on Jordan's relationship with Iraq.
He added that there was a period that Jordanian government did not grant the Iraqi residency visas, stressing that this affects, of course.
He said part of the Iraqis who were living in Jordan and they have large investments, left to Beirut because of the ease to the proceedings in this country.
Al- Kassab said that there are facilities provided to the Iraqis in Jordan, but we need to support these facilities and give them more attention.
He said that we, the Iraqi Investors, always belong to the country which we work and live, and if we do not feel belonging to this country so we will leave.
He added that Jordan is no doubt a fertile land and great for the Iraqis and others to invest, but he said we have scientific staff to work in the Kingdom, but there are difficulties to get them residencies.
Al- Kassab praised the investment climate in Jordan, describing the investment laws in this country as a very organized.
The Iraqis have had a great opportunity to invest in Jordan for a long time and not just the last 15 years, pointing to the existence of Iraqi investors in the Kingdom since 1994.
