Zubair Residential Community in Basra province will be constructed at a cost of 119bn IQDs ($102m), reported the Iraqi Ministry of Reconstruction and Housing website.
The website quoted minister Mohammed al-Daraji saying that the project near Zubair Parish in the province will be constructed on 56 donums.
The entire project includes two blocks: block A with 8 flats and block B with 22. Each flat contains six floors and each floor four units. The size of the units in block A is 225m and in block B 150m.
Two primary and one secondary school as well as a kindergarten, a health center and a shopping center will also be constructed in the project.
The Ministry of Reconstruction and Housing is currently implementing 57 residential projects across Iraq's provinces.
The website did not provide any details about the company undertaking the project, the time for launching the construction or the beneficiaries.
