Throughout 2018 the Egyptian government succeeded to execute 12 projects in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector at a total value of LE 1.3 billion, said a statement released by the Cabinet’s media center on Saturday.
In addition, 999 startups were established during the first three quarters of 2018, with a combined capital amounting to LE 976 million, the statement added.
Moreover, exports of information technology services have been estimated at more than $3.25 billion, according to an infograph posted by the center on its official Facebook page.
Total gross national product of ICT sector increased by 14 percent amounting to $80 billion during 2017-2018 fiscal year compared to USD 70 billion for the year before, the center added.
The volume of ICT investments has also witnessed a remarkable 38% increase to reach USD 21.8 billion compared to USD 15.8 billion during the 2016-2017 fiscal year, the center noted.
