The Kurdistan Region's Minister of Construction and Housing said the master plan for the region's two-way roads is ready for implementation and the ministry can change all of Kurdistan’s roads to two-way by 2013. Kamaran Ahmed said: "Eighty five percent of the master plan for the Kurdistan Region's dual roads has been completed and is ready for implementation.
"If the budget is not deducted we will be able to make all one side roads two-way in the cities, districts and villages by 2013.
"The master plan includes many main roads similar to developed countries and consists of a number to tunnels.
"The only obstacle facing the implementation of the mater plan is the budget. Otherwise all the preparations and design of the plan are ready to use.”
The ministry previously announced that it needs $3bn for executing the master plan.
