Qatar plans to construct an eco-friendly floating hotel by 2025 that will bring a unique, rotating design to luxury accommodations. Created by Turkey’s Hayri Atak Architectural Design Studio, the floating hotel will feature 152 rooms that slowly rotate every 24 hours, offering guests 360-degree ocean views. The hotel will produce its own energy through vertical wind turbines and solar umbrella panels, making it nearly self-sufficient and reducing its environmental impact. Its vortex-shaped roof will collect rainwater for on-site green spaces, while waste separation units will convert food waste into fertilizers, supporting the project’s commitment to sustainability.
Guests will access the hotel via car on a floating pier, by boat, or even by helicopter. Luxurious amenities like indoor and outdoor pools, a spa, gym, and mini-golf are also planned. With feasibility studies still underway, this innovative project aims to create a model of sustainable luxury in Qatar’s tourism sector, setting new standards for environmental and design excellence.
