Iraq’s Ministry of Construction, Housing, and Municipalities is preparing to announce the establishment of six new residential cities, according to a report by Alsumaria News.
The planned cities are located across six governorates:
- Al-Mutanabbi in Wasit
- Al-Salam in Najaf
- Ur City in Dhi Qar
- Al-Majar in Maysan
- Balad in Salah al-Din
- Al-Warka in Muthanna
Developers interested in these projects will be required to present a financing plan covering 25% of the project’s value and provide service infrastructure details at no cost to the relevant authorities, the report stated.
Meanwhile, five other residential cities are currently under development in Iraq:
- Al-Jawahiri and Ali Al-Wardi in Baghdad
- Al-Ghazlani in Mosul
- Dhi Qar in Karbala Province
- The Hanging Gardens in Babylon
