Qatar’s total healthcare expenditure is forecast to reach $11.5 billion by 2029, growing at a compound annual rate of 14%, according to BMI.
This growth will make Qatar the third-largest healthcare market in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) and the 10th-largest in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
A major factor driving this expansion is the anticipated increase in private healthcare spending, supported by Qatar’s high per capita healthcare expenditure compared to other emerging markets.
The private healthcare sector is also expected to benefit from stronger public-private partnerships, highlighted by initiatives like the opening of the private Surgi Art Hospital.
