Saudi authorities have approved 20 new projects to build houses for citizens in various parts of the Gulf kingdom, a local newspaper reported on Tuesday.
The housing ministry endorsed the projects in response to license applications by several local developers, the Arabic language daily Okaz said.
They comprise six projects in the eastern region, including five in the Gulf port of Dammam and one in Ihsa, it said.
Two projects will also be built in the western part of the city of Makkah, one in the Red Sea port of Jeddah and one in the nearby Taif.
Six projects are based in the southern region of Saudi Arabia, while two are in the capital Riyadh, one in the western area of Medina and one in Jazan in the southwest, the report said.
