Held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani, The Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the 15th Project Qatar, the international trade exhibition for construction technology, building materials, equipment, and environmental technology, today (Thursday, May 10, 2018) ended on a high note at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center with the event registering a big turnout after relevant regional and global organizations flocked to the event to capitalize on its numerous networking and learning opportunities.
The trade show took place amid the Qatari Government’s intensive efforts to transform the country into a world-class hub capable of accommodating the influx of business, sports, and recreation tourists. This ambitious plan has made Qatar one of the most attractive construction markets in the region. Celebrating 15 years of growth in Qatar, the four-day exhibition gathered top-level delegates from China, Turkey, Iran, Germany, Pakistan and other parts of the world in an environment charged with optimistic investor sentiment. The massive uptake in the number of participants and visitors reflected the robust status of the infrastructure sector in Qatar, proving once again that the domestic market is booming year after year.

The fourth and last day of theFuture Projects Qatar Conference highlighted the pivotal role of tourism in Qatar’s socio-economic advancement, with emphasis on sustainability as a growth driver for the hospitality sector. The participants also took note of the progress of a novel and integrated performance-driven approach for assessing, benchmarking, and improving the Building Information Modelling (BIM)competency of construction industry practitioners in the nation.
Around 400 pre-arranged business-to-business meetings between lead companies and visitors were held as well during which professionals got to exchange the best practices and explore state-of-the-art technologies that are reshaping the industry landscape. Many of these meetings translated into mutually beneficial business deals.
Issa Kopty, General Manager, Qatar Building Company, added: “Project Qatar just keeps outdoing itself and has once again delivered the best edition, thus far. We have never witnessed this number of visitors before and we just keep seeing the interest in the construction market to keep growing. The 15th edition concluded with a total of 421 exhibitors, 280 of which were international exhibitors from 29 countries such as China, Turkey, Iran, Germany, Kuwait, Italy, India, the United Kingdom, and Pakistan.
