Officially Supported by the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Advanced Conferences & Meetings (ACM) proudly launched Smart Parking KSA conference yesterday at Mövenpick Hotel Riyadh, KSA.
Smart Parking KSA brought together government representatives, developers, consultants, contractors and solution providers to discuss the wide variety of projects ongoing and upcoming in Saudi Arabia to further develop the country’s parking facilities.
The conference started with the keynote addresses of Dr. Sherif Ahmed, Hatim Abdul Jabbar, Trki Aljabaa from the Ministry of Housing and Arch. Mazen Boukhary from the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA).
Adam Fitzgerald shared a presentation on innovating the parking experience followed by a panel discussion on parking strategies and pipeline plans associated with major projects. The panel discussion was moderated by Dr. Sherif Ahmed and included Dr. Basim Zafar, Hatim Abdul Jabbar and Eng. Abdulelah Fawzan.
Dr. Basim Zafar shared new ideas on how to generate revenue from smart parking technologies whilst Yaser Ezzeddin detailed a presentation titled: On-street parking wireless sensors: Smart City Concept.
The conference ended with a panel discussion about bridging the requirement between project owners and technology providers.

The first day of Smart Parking KSA conference created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.

Many key players participated in this event, to name a few: General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA), Ministry of Municipality, Local UK Government, Jeddah Development & Urban Regeneration Company (JDURC), AFM Consultants and Southend-On-Sea Borough Council.
Solution providers like Park Assist, Smart Parking, IDEX, AMP Parking, bw.engineers, Makani, Jamal Jaroudi Group, Herrenknecht and Mawgif showcased their newest smart parking technologies and solutions.
Day two (October 18) of the conference will feature many more interesting presentations, to name a few: Egyptian Case study: Building an underground parking in Cairo, a presentation about streamlining the rules and regulations in the parking projects implementation and a panel discussion featuring the upcoming hospitality and leisure projects and the associated smart parking opportunities.
