In the presence of senior representatives from several government-backed entities in Jordan, Advanced Conferences & Meetings (ACM) proudly launched Solar O&M and Asset Management MENA conference yesterday at Sheraton Amman Al Nabil Hotel, Amman, Jordan.
Solar O&M and Asset Management MENA conference brought together key developers, EPC contractors, O&M providers and investors to discuss O&M strategies for long-term energy savings, increased energy yield and optimized asset performance.
The conference started with the opening remarks of the chairman Eng. Hamed Nababteh followed by a keynote address by Yaacoub Marar from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources
Eng. Hamed Nababteh also moderated a panel discussion on assessing the key requirements to ensure successful bidding of solar projects, the panel discussion featured Hanna Zaghloul, Basel Dahleh and Suresh Bhaskar. The panel discussion was followed by Huawei Smart PV Solutions presentation by Care Guan.
An interesting case study was shared at the conference titled “A model to enhance O&M bankability in emerging solar markets”, the case study was presented by Tareq Khalifa and Vassilis Papaeconomou.
Jeremy Crane detailed a presentation about maximising solar saving through the full life cycle for sub-utility scale solar whilst Dr. Raed Sherif presented an overview of operations and maintenance challenges for solar projects in Kuwait.
The first day of Solar O&M and Asset Management MENA created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.
Many key players participated in this event, to name a few: Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources – Jordan, Amman Renewable Energy Company, National Electric Power Company, Jordan Electric Power Company (JEPCO), Electricity Distribution Company (EDCO), Kawar Energy – Jordan, FAS Energy – Egypt, Terra Sola, Kuwait Oil Company, Yellow Door Energy, Jordan Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Fund.
Solution providers like Huawei showcased their newest technologies and solutions in the solar industry.
Day two (October 18) of the conference will feature many more interesting presentations, to name a few: A presentation about Financial mechanisms to encourage solar rooftop installations for government and private, a panel discussion detailing the progress updates on increasing Jordan’s grid capacity and on the Green Corridor project and another presentation about the progress updates on MASDAR’s solar projects in Jordan and future requirements for O&M and asset.
