Organized by IFP Iraq (International Fairs & Promotions), the Erbil International Fair 2016, the 12th edition of the International Multi-sector Trade officially opens today and runs until 13 October 2016 at the Erbil International Fair Ground.
Since its inception 12 years ago, the Erbil International Fair recorded success stories year after year, and the show grew exponentially at all levels, to lead all international exhibitions taking place in the Kurdistan Region.
The EIF plays a remarkable role in creating business and investment opportunities for local and international traders, in addition to promoting trade relations between Iraq and many countries around the world through the city of Erbil, the world's commercial gateway to Iraq. The advantage of the show is its diversity and variety of the exhibits ranging from electronic products and services, home furnishings, upholstery, stationery, toys and fashion jewelry, to telecommunications and IT, electronic systems, as well as tourism and real estate services and other economic sectors.
This year, the importance of the show is further stressed due to additional exhibitions held concurrently with Erbil International Fair including the 9th edition Project Iraq, the 6th edition Energy Iraq and the 9th edition of Iraq Agrofood. Organizers of the EIF described this move as an expression of confidence on behalf of the organizing company in the potentials of the Kurdistan Region and its economic development.
Erbil International Fair is the biggest international multi-sector trade fair organized in the Kurdistan Region. Being the largest consumer fair open to the public, last year, Erbil International Fair has recorded a high attendance with more than 18,500 visitors in 3 days, therefore making it the best platform for exhibitors to display and sell products off the stand. The direct contact between the exhibitors and the consumer is the most powerful means to build long-term trade relations and broaden export frontiers to the highly promising Iraqi market.
