Iraq's Al-Anbar governorate is planning to construct New Habbaniya City, a new project comprising nearly 17,000 houses, an Iraqi news network reported.
The project, close to the existing Habbaniya town, will be awarded to local and foreign developers on investment basis, Al-Forat News said, quoting Al-Anbar's governor Suhaib Al-Rawi.
"The new city will comprise over 17,000 houses. It will be built on an investment basis and will create vast business opportunities," he said.
Al-Rawi said representatives of several American and South Korean companies he met during visit to the United States have expressed interest in investing in the project.
The new city will be executed in five phases and will include 15 factories, he added.
