As part of Dubai Municipality storm water and sewerage scheme, which is estimated to be valued at $6bn, Dubai Municipality has invited pre-qualification for the deep tunnel stormwater network project earlier this year.
Private developers are also heavily involved in developing their stormwater and drainage network to avoid future flooding. This includes Dubai Investment Park (DIP) which is building its own internal storm water network by adding pipelines to drain flood water into the sea and other measures.
The master stormwater network for Jebel Ali district is in the works and will be ready by the end of 2019.
