Qatar's Quality Group International and Global Real Estate Company, owned by Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Saud Al Abdurrahman Al Thani, have signed a deal to launch a new 14,864m2 shopping center in Wakrah City.
Work on the mall project is expected to be completed by mid-2017.
The mall will have a full-fledged supermarket and department store spread on two floors, with ample and convenient parking facility in the basement and on the ground floor, according to The Peninsula.
The center will also feature eateries, pharmacy, money exchange, laundry, and other facilities.
The agreement was signed during an official ceremony at Global Real Estate company headquarters in the presence of Sheik Ahmed; Shamsudheen Olakara, chairman, Quality Group; Shahid V, executive manager, Quality Retail Group; Ramshad, commercial manager, Quality Retail Group; and Rayees K, media and operations manager, Quality Group International.
Sheikh Ahmed said: “The mall project in Wakrah has undertaken extensive market research to better understand the needs and preferences of customers. So, we have taken a strategic approach to hand over the project to a leading retailer in Qatar.
"We hope that Quality Group can provide the best shopping and leisure experience to the multi-community in Qatar, especially in Wakrah and Wukair areas, and we are delighted to be signing this new collaboration.”
Shamsudheen Olakara said: “Being a Qatar-headquartered company, we are thrilled to join hands with the very reputed Global Real Estate Company and take over their mall project in Wakrah.
