Under the patronage of the Islamic Affairs & Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) in Dubai, Advanced Conferences & Meetings proudly launched the inaugural of Mosque Design & Development UAE conference at Park Hyatt Dubai in UAE. This conference is officially supported by the Ministry of Energy and the Ministry of Infrastructure Development in the UAE.
Mosque Design & Development was presented to the UAE in order to discuss the latest innovations and best practices for the design, construction, operations and maintenance of mosques to meet the required standards across the Emirates while achieving aesthetic and eco-friendly goals.
The conference started with three keynote addresses delivered by H.E. Dr. Tawfeeq A. Al Sediry Vice Minister at the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance (KSA).
When H.E Dr. Matar Al Neyadi was asked about the challenges faced in achieving energy efficiency goals and the future of mosques, he replied “With the new regulations from Estidama that is being applied for the new buildings in the UAE, it has become easier to achieve energy efficiency goals within mosques. Future mosques are to be designed to be more self-efficient and conservative in using water and natural resources. With the help and guidance of Etihad ESCO, we are expecting 600million to 1.7billion dirhams in savings of water and electricity. This will open other opportunities for the private sector to invest. As for existing buildings, this will create an opportunity for the private sector to work on them to match the government’s interest in making the existing building eco-friendly.”
