Project Qatar 2016, the 13th International Construction Technology and Building Materials Exhibition, began yesterday witnessing huge participation of entrepreneurs and companies from over 37 countries. Minister of Economy and Commerce, H E Sheikh Ahmed bin Jassim Al Thani, inaugurated the four-day exhibition at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Center (DECC).
Participants have pinned high hopes on the exhibition which is expected to see over 35,000 visitors.
“We are participating for the first time in this exhibition as we have started getting a lot of response from Qatar. Our target is pumping companies and companies which are into trading of similar equipment. We have a lot of expectations from this Project Qatar. We are here to boost our sale and looking for new clients. We hope that this exhibition will prove helpful to expand our business in Qatar,” said Huzefa Khamgaonwala, who is heading international market for India based company- Shakti Pumps. “We are from India and our company is into manufacturing of wide range of water pumps supplying to over 100 countries. In Qatar we are supplying to many contractors and big projects. Our products include submersible pumps ranging from 0.5 horse power (HP) to 250HP,” he added.
The exhibition is being held under the auspices of Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and will have 18 country pavilions.
“Project Qatar is once again this year proving its role as Qatar’s leading construction exhibition by bringing together a large number of local, regional and international decision makers and industry professionals. The main reason for the success of this event is the continuous support of the Government of Qatar which played a major role in putting together this memorable event,” said Albert Aoun, Owner of IFP Group. “It is very important to mention that other reasons behind the success of this event are not limited to the steady efforts of the organizers. Spread over 30,000 square meters of exhibition space, Project Qatar 2016 stretches across five vast, pillar-free halls as well an outside area for heavy machinery.
