Iran’s non-oil trade topped $81.38 billion from the beginning of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21, 2015) until March 10, 2016, the Iran Customs Administration reported.
In a period of almost 12 months, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) reported, Iran has imported $40.134 billion of non-oil goods which indicates 22.77 percent decrease compared to the same period in its previous year.
By exporting $41.246 billion of non-oil goods in the mentioned period, the figure dropped by 16.3 percent when compared to the last year’s number.
The export of non-oil goods declined since the country’s export of gas condensate fell 52.88 percent in the mentioned period while the falling oil prices had been affecting the general trend of trade.
Methane, propane and bitumen were the main exported goods while China, Iraq, United Arab Emirates (UAE), Afghanistan and India were the top destinations of Iranian products.
The country’s exports to China and Iraq fell 23 percent and 4 percent, respectively, while the UAE, Afghanistan and India’s share of Iranian non-oil goods rose 21 percent, four percent and one percent, correspondingly.
Corn, wheat, soy bean and rice were the main imported products while China, UAE, South Korea, Turkey and Switzerland were the top exporters of goods to Iran.
