Project Qatar has consistently served as a focal point between Qatar and its trading partners for the country’s growing and diverse construction market, providing a dedicated avenue for tens of thousands of leading international manufacturers and exporters, and hundreds of thousands of importers and industry professionals, facilitating them to leverage the numerous opportunities in Qatar’s construction market.
In its 13th edition, Project Qatar now bears the industry-wide stamp of approval for tradeshow authenticity and effectiveness; the exhibition is now a UFI approved event; furthermore IFP Qatar is now a UFI member. UFI approval is regarded as a solid indicator of a show's popularity, service quality and level of internationalism.
Project Qatar is the first construction industry exhibition in the country to be associated with UFI; IFP Qatar is delighted with the recently attained recognition. Representing the exhibition industry since 1925, UFI is the association of the world’s leading tradeshow organizers and fairground owners, major national and international exhibition associations and selected partners of the exhibition industry. Its objective is to represent, promote and support its members and the exhibition industry worldwide by promoting the unique characteristics of trade fairs. UFI has bestowed its quality label upon over 910 trade fairs and exhibitions organized by its members worldwide, gathering over 50 international professional associations under its wing. And now Project Qatar and IFP Qatar join the league.
The organizers had assigned KMPG, one of the international Big Four auditing firms, to audit the key exhibition figures for Project Qatar. The process involved pre-event review of systems, on-site inspection, post event confirmations of attendance, examination of accounting records and other auditing procedures. Accordingly, KMPG certified 1130 exhibitors in a total exhibition area of 41,500 sqm that included 859 of domestic and 271 international exhibitors. The total number of visitors at Project Qatar was counted at 32,167 (footfall). In the year 2016, the show expects to score higher on all the parameters, as the show moves to the Doha Exhibition Conference and Convention Center (DECC).
“We initiated the process of bringing total transparency in our operations with the independent audit. The ‘UFI approved’ label will provide an assurance to the Project Qatar exhibitors and visitors that they will benefit from a professionally planned and managed event,” says IFP Qatar’s General Manager George Ayache. “With this recognition, the Project Qatar team is more enthusiastic towards its preparation for the 2016 edition of Project Qatar, scheduled for the 9th to 12th of May, 2016.”
