China Railway Construction Corporation Limited (CRCC) announced it has completed the $1.7bn (SAR6.3bn) Mashaer Railway project in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The contractor signed off on the project this week, handing it over to the Kingdom's Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Arab News reported.

Up to 10,000 people were employed over the last 16 months to complete the project.
Up to 12,000 buses have been removed from Makkah following the rail project, resulting in fewer traffic jams and congestion issues.
The railway lines span 18.5km, across nine railway stations, and an area for parking
The train lines cross Mina, Muzdalifah, and Arafat, the report added.
Five trains can transport 72,000 passengers one-way per hour.
The project included the first contract in the Kingdom covering design, supply, construction, operation and maintenance.
