A deal has been agreed upon to implement infrastructure works at Al Wakrah Logistics Services Area.
The $235.1m (QAR856m) deal was signed between the Logistics Committee at Qatar's Ministry of Economy and Commerce (MEC), the country's Economic Zones Company (Manateq), and engineering firm, Galfar Al Misnad.
The project spans an area of 660ha (6.6sq.km), of which the first phase, 350ha (3.5sq.km) large, is currently under development for lease to investors.
Infrastructure works will be due for completion with 24 months of signing the contract, local daily Gulf Times reported.
Satish G Pillai, executive director of Galfar Al Misnad, said the project will commence immediately.
