The number of industrial cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has doubled over the last "few years", reporting a growth rate of 7% since 2007.
Director general of Saudi Industrial Property Authority, Saleh Rasheed, revealed the statistic, adding: "In 2007, there were only 14 industrial cities [in the Kingdom], but this increased to 34 cities at the end of 2014."
Rasheed said Sadeer Industrial City, considered one of the largest industrial cities in the Kingdom, is a "major investment destination" for local and foreign investors alike, local daily Arab News reported.
Sadeer International City's attractiveness has increased, Rashed added, following recent approvals acquired for the construction of an airport in its premises.
Sadeer officials will also, it is believed, "move forward" with the train line which is due to pass through the industrial city.
