Qatar Project Management (QPM), a Qatari project management company, has announced its sponsorship of three conferences at the 12th edition of Project Qatar.
This consists of Lighting Tech, Future Building Information Modelling (BIM) Implementations and HVAC Tech conferences.
QPM hopes that the three conferences, which will be co-located and run parallel to Project Qatar, will spur opportunities for rising talent, as well as networking opportunities across sector verticals.
The first conference Lighting Tech focuses on the impact of lighting technology amidst the growth of the construction sector in Qatar. Amongst the expected discussion points includes energy efficiency, localized solar generation and implementation of effective lighting across a variety of structures and urban environments.
The second annual HVAC Tech conference will largely focus on increasing energy efficiency as air conditioning currently accounts for 70% of total energy consumption in Qatar. Additionally, the conference will also discuss the role of HVACs in building automation and energy management systems.
Lastly, the Future BIM Implementations conference will look at the incorporation of BIM software to enhance building schedules. Key topics will include the current state of BIM utilization in the GCC, the emergence of new technologies, as well as upcoming projects which are being developed in conjunction with a BIM system.
Project Qatar will run from the 4 – 7 May, 2015 at the Qatar National Convention Centre.
