Iran’s foreign trade surpasses $57.214 billion in the seven-month period from March 21-October 22, says Farhad Nouri, director of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPOI).
Iran’s non-oil exports amounted to $26.9bn during March 21-October 22, 2014, while it imported more than $30bn worth of products, Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) reports.
“Iran conducts transactions with 170 countries. However, 69 per cent of the country’s exports go to China, Iraq, the UAE, Afghanistan and India,” adds Nouri, noting that a survey of export revenues in the same period indicates that the value of each ton of Iranian products has increased by 12 per cent, while the value of each ton of imported goods has declined year-on-year.
