Siemens, a leading powerhouse in electronics and electrical engineering, is set to showcase a range of power technologies at the GCC Power 2013 exhibition in Abu Dhabi.
Managed by GCC CIGRE and organized by IFP, The 9th GCC – CIGRE International Conference and 18th Exhibition for Electrical Equipment, GCC Power 2013 Conference & Exhibition, will be held in Abu Dhabi – UAE from 18 to 20 November 2013.
Siemens will present innovations from both its energy, and infrastructure and cities sectors, with a focus on solutions that can significantly improve the efficiency and reliability of regional power supplies, said a statement.
Highlights will include the company’s fixed-mounted circuit-breaker 8DA-10 switchgear, designed for use in transformer and switching substations across a wide range of industries; and the Siemens 8DQ1-6 gas-insulated high-voltage switchgear, a new generation of switchgear noted for a high degree of versatility provided by its modular design.
Both systems have been designed for operation in regions with adverse ambient conditions, such as high levels of dust and humidity.
The company’s Smart Grid division will also be showcasing a new benchmark for protection, automation, control and monitoring of transmission grids – Siprotec5. Designed for the protection of systems and employees, the Siprotec5 family of field devices enable full data security and transparency throughout the entire lifecycle of the system, additionally saving time and reducing costs.
Siemens will also display wide area monitoring systems (WAMS) such as the Siguard PDP software as well as a simulation kit of the Distribution Feeder Automation technology.
