Qatar will invest about $20 billion (QR73bn) on construction of bridges, subways and underpasses to link its various road and rail projects with an aim to upgrade the country’s internal as well as external connectivity with the neighboring countries.
The amount is part of the country’s $100bn investment plan that has been announced to for its transportation sector over the next few years.
The $20bn investment plan was announced at the 6th Annual Bridges Middle East Co-located with Tunnels Middle East conference held in Doha from November 11 to 13.
The three-day event was the region’s leading event dedicated to designing, planning, delivering and maintaining world-class bridges and tunnels.
