IFP Iraq (International Fairs & Promotions) held a press conference at Erbil Rotana Hotel and announced the launching of Iraq Agro Food 2013, the 6th International Exhibition for Agriculture, Food, Food Processing and Packaging that is held between the 18th and the 21th of November, 2013 at the Erbil International Fair Ground under the patronage of the Kurdistan Regional Government.
Anwar Omar, director of planning in the KRG Ministry of Agriculture was in the lead of the press conference participants along with the representative of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the region, and Executive Director of Erbil International Fair Hardi Omar. The organizing company (IFP) was represented by Mr. Fady Darwiche, General Manager of IFP Iraq. The conference was attended by a crowd of officials, diplomats, and businessmen, amid a significant follow-up by different media.
In his speech, Anwar Omar, Director of Planning in the KRG Ministry of Agriculture underlined the importance of the sector and food security in general for the KRG who provides its total support to the farmers of the region. Omar added that holding the Iraq Agro Food exhibition is a great opportunity for the region’s farmers and agri-traders to market their products and at the same time benefit from the expertise that regional and international exhibitors are delivering through this important event.
Mr. Darwishe, GM of IFP Iraq addressed the audience and elaborated the merits and the importance of the exhibition, praising the government’s efforts, which are being exerted in Iraq in general and in Kurdistan Region in particular, in order to move forward with the development plans and boost economic growth. Darwishe thanked the officials in Kurdistan Regional Government for their support to the company’s activities and managing of Erbil International Fair Ground, taking pride in this collaboration that links the company with the venue. He also thanked all local and international supporting bodies as well as the sponsors and partners.
In terms of participants’ level, the exhibition resembles an international business demonstration hosted by the city of Erbil. This year, more than 320 companies including 236 international companies representing 27 countries from all over the world, are taking part in this exhibition, including Jordan, Spain, Germany, U.A.E., Iran, Italy, Belgium, Poland, Turkey, Tunisia, Syria, Switzerland, Sri Lanka, China, Iraq, Cyprus, Kuwait, Canada, Latvia, Lebanon, Hungary, Egypt, United Kingdom, Saudi Arabia, India, the Netherlands, and Greece.
On display will be agricultural equipment, agricultural products and services, animal health and instruments, chemicals and fertilizers, consulting services, water management systems, water treatment, food and beverages, food packaging materials and supplies, food processing machinery, packing and packaging equipment, supermarket fridges and many more.
Traders, suppliers, distributors, manufacturers of agricultural and food products are all invited to take part in a unique exhibition designed to be a forum for launching new products and services, making new contacts and expanding existing ones.
