The Iraqi government said it would lower Internet service fees in all Iraqi cities by 35% and would bind government and private sector companies to maintain the same quality of service without any change.
"The cabinet decided in its last session to decrease Internet service fees to make the Internet accessible to all citizens whether at home or on their cell phones," said Salam al-Quraishi, economic advisor to the Iraqi government.
A fine will be levied against any company that delays in implementing the decision, he said.
