On Wednesday, 25 September, Nechirvan Barzani, Prime Minister of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region, visited the Erbil International Fair 2013.
The Prime Minister visited the stands and the pavilions of the participating companies, where different kinds of products were showcased including industrial machinery and equipment, furniture, agricultural, cars, IT and telecommunication products and more.
Accompanied by the mayor of Erbil and the ambassadors, consuls and representatives of Brazil, Britain, the U. S, Germany, Austria, Portugal, Iran, Jordan, the UAE, Egypt and Turkey and several other countries, the PM also paid a visit to the stands and the pavilions of the participating countries.
During his visit to the Turkish pavilion, the Turkish Consul General in Erbil pointed out that his country has a big participation this year with 50 companies exhibiting in the Turkish pavilion.
At the end of his visit, answering to reporters’ questions, Nechirvan Barzani said that he was very pleased with the annual growth of show in terms of participation and exhibition space, noting that this growth is a clear indication that the economy of Kurdistan region of Iraq is vibrant and growing every year.
“If we compare the number of participants in the exhibition with last year, we notice that there is an improvement in terms of quality of the participants, and this fact will certainly have a positive impact on the revival and the development of the economy in the Kurdistan region of Iraq," said the PM. “We realize that the size of this fair ground is small, so the Kurdistan Regional Government has plans to develop a larger and more state of the art exhibition center in Erbil,” he added.
