Dubai's Drake & Scull International said it is part of a joint venture that was won a contract for work worth 522 million Saudi riyals ($139 million) on the King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
DSI will partner with Habtoor Leighton Specon on the development, considered to be the first hospital in the Gulf region to include a Proton Therapy Centre, it said in statement posted on the Dubai Financial Market website.
The new medical facility is part of DSI's growing portfolio of high-profile healthcare projects in the kingdom, the company said, which also includes a new healthcare facility in the eastern province of Damman as well as the Tabarjal Hospital, Mina Hospital and Health College.
The latest project is part of the SAR2.3 billion King Fahad Medical City , the largest and most advanced medical complex in the Middle East with a total capacity of 1,095 beds.
