The Middle East region's average solar radiation is among the world’s highest as it receives continuous radiation for about 80% of the year.
Kuwait has the largest potential for solar power generation in the region with about 8000 Watt hour per square meter (Whr/m2), followed by the UAE with an average 7300 Whr/m2 of solar radiation and Saudi Arabia with about 7200 Whr/m2.
Solar is the most abundant renewable source of energy in the Middle East and accounts for 85% to 90% of renewable energy investments in the region.
