Water and Electricity Minister Abdullah Al-Hussayen has signed 32 contracts worth SR 824 million ($220 million) for water and sanitation projects in different parts of the country.
The projects cover water supply, sewage water, digging of wells and detection of leaks, house connections and replacement of damaged networks and distribution of drinking water and construction of pumping stations, treatment plants and centralized water tanks.
The first contract is to lay a second feeder line for Qassim valued at SR 278 million.
Other contracts in the province include construction of a sewage network with booster pumps for the sub-governorates costing SR 104.4 million, operation and maintenance of the potable water station (phase 3) in Al-Badae city (SR 50 million) and sewage networks in different parts of the Onaizah Governorate (SR15 million).
The contracts in the Madinah Province include a SR 50.7 million project to replace damaged sewage networks in the province and sewage pumping valued at SR 9.6 million.
Contracted projects in the Eastern Province include a SR 41.25 million development of sewage stations in the Qatif Governorate and also import and set up mobile diesel pumps required for the sewage stations in the province costing SR 27 .8 million.
The contracts for the Asir Province include a pumping station for the pipeline from Tathlith to Bisha worth SR 22.6 million.
Another project is the construction of a collection tank and distribution center at the eastern side of the Abha city valued at SR 19.3 million.
They also include upgrading the treatment plant at Khamis Mushayit valued at SR 19.25 million, a water distribution station at Yaari costing SR 18.3 million, and the operation and maintenance of a water network at Khamis Mushayit costing SR 17.2 million.
The projects in the Hail province include a SR19.5 million project for the second phase of the Hail city sewage networks.
The minister also signed a contract for the SR10 million drinking water project in Dhaba in the Tabukprovince.
Another contract is in the Al-Mandaq city in Baha costing SR 57.3 million.
Signed contracts also include a SR 9 million project to commission and maintain drinking water projects in Qurayyat in Al-Jouf province.
