Drake & Scull Construction (DSC), the civil contracting arm of Drake & Scull International (DSI), signed a Dh450 million ($123 million) civil contract in the Western province in Saudi Arabia.
Works on the project are due to start immediately with an estimated completion date in December 2014.
DSC has achieved strong and consistent performance since its inception in 2010. The company has successfully carried off the transformation from being primarily a UAE based contractor to substantially increasing its footprint in both KSA and Qatar within the span of one year. The emphasis on regional diversification has proved to be highly strategic as DSC achieved tremendous progress particularly in Saudi Arabia, which is now DSC's biggest new market by value.
Saleh Muradweij, Executive Director of DSC, said: "DSC has gone through major milestones in market diversification, backed by a competent management and exceptional workforce. Within a span of a couple of years, DSC has become a vital part of DSI PJSC, with prestigious high profile projects to its credit already. We are very delighted with this achievement and we expect to announce more details on the scope of the project in Q2".
