The Health Affairs Directorate in Madinah Province has received additional allocations of more than SR 285 million to boost the ongoing and new health projects in the region.
The projects include the expansion of King Abdulaziz Hospital to 400 beds, in addition to the construction of Al-Ansar, Badr, and Al-Mahd hospitals at the capacity of 200 beds for each, Abdullah bin Ali Al-Taifi, director general of the Health Affairs Directorate, was quoted by the Saudi Press Agency.
He said the emergency and outpatients units at the obstetrics and gynecology hospital are 88 percent complete at a cost of SR 20 million.
Meanwhile, the 500-bed specialized hospital project is 52 percent complete at a cost exceeding SR 450 million, whereas the kidney center in Yanbu is 30 percent complete at a cost of SR 14 million.
He said the first phase of the Specialized Dental Center at King Fahd Hospital is now compete and includes 45 dental clinics. The center is equipped with a lab, two X-ray rooms, a medical library, and a 200-seat conference hall. The center will cost SR 14 million.
He said a project for the construction of outpatient clinics at King Fahd Hospital was awarded to a contractor at a cost reaching SR 50 million.
Another project for the 300-bed Miqat Hospital was also awarded at SR 416 million, he said.
