Holcim Liban, one of Lebanon’s leading cement producers, declared net profits of US$ 9.1 million in the first half of 2012, down from US$ 19.9 million in the same period of 2011.
Net sales reached US$ 89.8 million in the aforementioned period of 2012, down by 7.5% from US$ 97.1 million in the same period of 2011.
Distribution and selling expenses went down from US$ 8.8 million in the first half of 2011 to US$ 8.0 million in the same period of 2012. Administrative expenses decreased from US$ 4.5 million in the aforementioned period of 2011 to US$ 4.4 million in the same period of 2012.
Total assets stood at US$ 283.5 million at end-June 2012, 5.7% lower than those of year-end 2011 which totaled US$ 300.6 million. Shareholders’ equity amounted to US$ 197.8 million at end-June 2012, down by 8.1% from US$ 215.2 million at year-end 2011.
