Dubai-based Habtoor Leighton Group, a joint venture between Leighton Holdings Ltd. (LEI.AU) and Al Habtoor Group, said it has been awarded a second healthcare contract in Saudi Arabia worth 278 million Saudi riyals ($74 million), at King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh.
The project will see the delivery of the first proton therapy center in the Gulf region, and will be delivered in a joint venture with Al Latifia Trading and Contracting, Habtoor Leighton said in an emailed statement.
Construction will commence later this year, with the proton therapy center, along with the central services building, scheduled for completion within 18 months to allow installation and commissioning of the equipment.
In September, Habtoor Leighton was awarded a SAR1.18 billion contract by Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Health for work at the King Fahad Medical City .
