InterContinental Hotels Group said on Tuesday that the Crowne Plaza Jordan Dead Sea Resort and Spa is now open for business.
The resort is the third Crowne Plaza to open in Jordan, joining Crowne Plaza Petra and Crowne Plaza Amman. The hotel group now has seven hotels in the country including Holiday Inn Dead Sea Resort and the renowned InterContinental Jordan, it said in a statement.
It added that the property is located at the lowest point on earth on the banks of the Dead Sea, boasting 420 rooms, including a Presidential Suite and Royal Suite, and that it is 30 minutes away from the capital Amman and 45 minutes from Queen Alia International Airport, IHG said.
“It won’t be long before the resort becomes one of Jordan’s most popular places to escape to,” said Pascal Gauvin, IHG’s chief operating officer, India, Middle East and Africa.
Further, IHG franchises lease, manage or own more than 4,500 hotels and more than 666,000 guest rooms in nearly 100 countries and territories. With more than 1,000 hotels in its development pipeline, the group plans to recruit around 90,000 people into additional roles across its estate over the next few years.
IHG’s global portfolio includes nine hotel brands including InterContinental Hotels and Resorts, Hotel Indigo, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Hotels and Resorts, Holiday Inn Express, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, as well as the two new brands, Even Hotels and Hualuxe Hotels and Resorts.
