An Australian company has presented a plan to the Basra Investment Commission to set up metro in the southern Basra, according to an official statement. "The Australian company has projects in several countries in the world and Basra is our most important investment step due to its economic weight in the region," Mustapha Fadel al-Moussawi, the executive director of the metro project said, noting that the establishment of the metro which will facilitate the citizens' movement in the province is among the modern solutions which is now spread in various countries in the world.
For his part, Chairman of the BIC, Haydar Ali Fadel expressed the commission's readiness to provide all necessary documents to start the project as soon as possible.
