Transport Minister Dr. Jabara Al-Seraisry signed 119 contracts worth SR 4.4 billion to construct new roads and maintain existing ones in various parts of the Kingdom.
The new roads will be implemented at a total cost of SR 1.8 billion while maintenance work will cost SR 2.6 billion.
Makkah province has received seven road projects valued at more than SR 293 million while four projects worth SR 194.86 million will be built in the Madinah province and three projects worth SR 101 million in the Riyadh province.
The Eastern Province has three new projects worth SR 156.97 million while Qassim received four projects valued at SR 234.57 million. Other new road projects are in Asir (SR 89 million), Tabuk (SR 182.96 million), Hail (SR 97.35 million), Northern Border Province (SR 41 million), Jazan (SR 130 million), Najran (SR 112 million), Baha (SR 84 million) and Al-Jouf (SR 89 million).
