Bahrain has unveiled ambitious development plans for the coming two years, with housing, education, health, infrastructure and social development projects topping the 2013-14 budget priorities. Details of the two-year roadmap were released as HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa chaired a work meeting on June 12.
The session discussed projects scheduled to be financed as part of the GCC aid package to Bahrain.
In this regard, a high-level delegation representing the Saudi Fund for Development is expected to visit Bahrain soon.
'The visit reflects Saudi commitment to the $10 billion GCC aid package aimed at financing Bahrain's development projects,' Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa told the session.
HRH the Premier gave directives to prioritize projects relating most to citizens' daily lives.
He urged a balanced approach in launching housing projects to cover all governorates, stressing the importance of expediting development schemes.
'Any delay in government-funded projects concerning citizens is totally unacceptable,' he said.
The Finance Minister outlined the estimated 2013-14 budget.
