Iraq and Japan signed an investment agreement to encourage investments and boosting cooperation between the two countries, Japanese embassy in Baghdad said in a statement. "Japanese Ambassador in Baghdad Susosmo Hassigawa signed the agreement with Chairman of the National Investment Commission, Sami al-Aaraji," said the statement received by Aswat al-Iraq news agency.
Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Kushiro Gimba had said at the end of the Joint Ministerial Committee: Japan is "very interested in oil and energy in Iraq as well as the demand for infrastructure," and expressed the hope to contribute to the agreement to raise the investment of Japanese companies in Iraq.
