Ahmed Knio & Fils (AKF) was established in 1912 by the late brothers Ahmed and Abdul Hafiz Knio. It started as a small family business that quickly matured and evolved into one of the key players in the Lebanese industry by Ahmed’s three sons Mostafa, Mohamad, and Abdul Hafiz Knio. It is still actively run today by the family Ahmad, Mounir, Jamal, Samir and Omar Knio.
“Our main line of business is the supply of all materials needed by mechanical works contractors including pipes, valves, fittings, welding machines and consumables; for steam, water and air applications,” said Mounir Knio, Managing Partner Ahmed Knio & Fils. “We are also proud to be the reliable partner for the big industrial players in Lebanon when it comes to industrial metal shaping machines and consumables,” he added.
Expressing confidence in Lebanon’s construction and energy markets Knio said that these markets are heading towards a big boom. “We honestly think that this is a market to invest in. As for the next decade, business is expected to be flourishing in an exponential rate in comparison with the last decade. This is due to the newly found natural resources in the country and maritime area, and to the real need for water storage and optimization of the use of water,” he added.
Knio & Fils have has involved in many of the big projects in Lebanon as a reliable supplier for mechanical works contractors. These projects include but are not limited to the following: ABC; Citymall; Le Royal; Marina Gardens; Phoenicia; Movenpick; Beirut Airport and many more. Also, we have been involved in retrofitting and offering a complete optimization solution for a few Lebanese factories; thus helping in making the Lebanese industry more competitive on an international level.
When asked about the company’s participation in Project Lebanon, Knio said that since the return on investment from these shows have been very satisfying, “we have repeatedly participated in Project Lebanon exhibitions for the past years. We believe that the high professionalism and expert organization have made this show the place to be for every company and professional who wants to be part of this country’s future,” he noted.
This year, Knio & Fils is displaying some new mechanized and automated products for optimal welding solutions as well as the newest products in valves and fittings launched by the company’s partner brands.
“As every year, we expect a massive turn-out of professionals and engineers in the hope of developing new business relationships. We have had great experiences in the past Project Lebanon exhibitions and expect no less this year,” Knio concluded.
