A combination of factors – including the rising popularity of sailing, the increasing availability of waterfront property and the fast-growing population – have created a market where demand currently outstrips supply, creating major opportunities for boat suppliers and builders.
Suppliers of leisure boats in the region are reporting that 2013 has been one of the strongest years to date, with the order book filling up rapidly for 2014.
This in turn has sparked a response from property developers, who are looking to deliver an estimated 25,000 new berths for boats over the next five years in the United Arab Emirates alone. Comparative growth is predicted for Kuwait and Qatar, Bahrain Oman.
Strong economic growth and the rising levels of disposable income of the more affluent demographic sectors stimulate economic growth in the Middle East leisure boat market. Yet, the investments of real estate developers, banks and marine supply companies are all generating economic opportunities for boat builders and suppliers.
From the boat enthusiast’s perspective, this development in financial and support infrastructure makes it easier to purchase, maintain and enjoy their leisure craft leading to development of a hugely positive economic cycle.
Such cross-industry interest in the region’s leisure boat market is seen as a positive indication for Beirut Boat Show in 2014 with more than 50,000 visitors anticipated.
Organized by International Fairs & Promotions (IFP) – Lebanon and Messe Düsseldorf, the shaw has been moved to a lavish new location with several advantages. In its 9th edition, the upscale Beirut Boat will be taking place at its new official venue, the Port of Beirut, Pier I, where a wider array of luxurious yachts and boats will benefit from more exhibition and mooring space. The venue is ideally located in Beirut’s trendy Downtown area, minutes away from the city’s most renowned 5 star accommodations. Transportation is therefore more convenient, in addition to numerous parking spaces on location.
The 9th edition of the Beirut Boat Show has a wide range of displays for both the general public and trade professionals. From diving equipment to speed boats, sports fishing gear to marine coatings, navigation equipment to air-conditioning and refrigeration options for boaters – the exhibition has a vibrant mix of products of interest to general marine and water enthusiasts.
