Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Tarek el Mulla on Wednesday presided over a meeting of the governmental committee that is formed by a decision of the prime minister to turn Egypt into a regional center for energy.
In a press release, Mulla said that the working team, grouping representatives of ministries and State departments concerned, has outlined a comprehensive strategy for setting up a regional center for handling and trading gas and oil.
The strategy includes three phases the first of which is studying similar projects worldwide and the second involves a technical and economic assessment for proposed alternatives while the third includes setting a plan for implementation, he added.
