Held under the Patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the three-day exhibition and conference is Qatar’s longest-running construction event and international trade fair that specializes in construction and all related industries.
The 2019 event is set to be the most diverse and comprehensive edition. Organized by International Fairs and Promotions (IFP) Qatar, the exhibition will feature more than 500 of the most recognized international and local brands and companies from 34 different countries.
Mr. Haidar Mshaimesh, Acting General Manager, IFP Qatar, said: “Project Qatar has always been a major contributor to the development of Qatar’s construction sector. As the industry undergoes changes with the emergence of new projects, the exhibition is diversifying its offerings with a focus on the technological aspect of the construction sector while continuing to provide insight into the industry’s trade dynamics. Today, Project Qatar offers a comprehensive platform that supports the various aspects of development and investment in the country’s construction sector.”
The future focus of this year’s event will highlight innovation in the construction sector, and one of the exhibition’s dedicated product zones is ‘Smart District’, dedicated to Qatar’s Smart Nation Program. The Smart District is a platform for smart technology providers, urban planners, innovators and other industry specialists to explore the requirements for Qatar’s digitized cities and connect with local stakeholders while showing the cutting-edge innovations implemented in building, energy, and transportation.

Commenting on the participation of Turkey, which hosts the second largest pavilion at the exhibition after China, Mr. Burak Guresci, Commercial Counsellor, the Embassy of Republic of Turkey, said: “Turkey is moving forward with the production of advanced equipment and sophisticated services to cement its position as a key partner in the growth efforts of Qatar and across the Gulf region. Turkish companies have moved beyond developing simple solutions and are now competing with global players in several industries to provide integrated, modern solutions at competitive prices. This is one of the factors that has led to the success of Turkish companies in Qatar, a success that we hope to showcase through our participation in Project Qatar 2019 through a pavilion that brings together about 60 companies.”
In addition to Turkey, Project Qatar will present 15 official national pavilions from Algeria, Austria, Belgium, China, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Kuwait, Pakistan, Poland, Romania, Russia, Taiwan, and the United Kingdom, where brands and companies from the same national markets can jointly introduce their services and products to the Qatari market. In total, brands and companies from 34 countries will take part in the exhibition.
International companies account for 70 percent of participating firms, a rate only matched at global exhibitions. China leads Asian countries with 90 participating firms while Italy comes first among European countries with 20 companies.
