With the operation of all the lines of Doha Metro (Red, Green and Gold lines) the construction activities in the real estate sector, has intensified in the surroundings of metro lines further accelerating the urban growth, noted a weekly report by Ezdan Real Estate Company.
The Ezdan report also noted that construction works will continue and pick up further momentum during the next year, and construction activities are expected to be mainly focused in the residential and commercial projects coupled with infrastructure, transportation, and communications projects, as part of the state’s continued infrastructure development program aiming at creating integrated network of roads, bridges, and tunnels.
These ongoing works contribute to accommodating the expected population increase and the growing number of visitors to Qatar in the run-up to the 2022 FIFA World Cup, said the report.
During this week, Qatar’s Ministry of Transport and Communications announced the start of the trial operation of the Green Line for the Doha Metro, which includes 11 stations: Mansoura, the White Palace, Hamad Hospital, Al-Messila, Old Rayyan, Al Shaqab, Qatar National Library, Education City, and Riffa.
Thus, all trial operation of all Doha metro lines proceeds and contributes to increasing the urban growth in all areas that metro lines and stations pass through and stimulates construction across the environs.
Planning and Statistics Authority has announced the registration of building permits issued by the various municipalities in the state, which account for 2,385 licenses, during the past three months starting from September, October and wrapping up in November 2019.
With regard to real estate activity in terms of trading volume and values, during the period from December 1-5, 2019, Real Estate Registration Department at the Ministry of Justice has documented 68 real estate transactions with a total value standing at QR396.5m, and the operations were distributed over 7 municipalities: Umm Salal Municipality Al Khor, Al Dhakhira, Doha, Al Rayyan, Al Shamal, Al Daayan and Al Wakra. The real estate transactions included deals for land plots, housing units, multi-use buildings, multi-use land plots, and residential buildings.
Al Wakrah Municipality accounted for the highest deal in terms of value by selling a house spreading on a huge area of 29,236 square meters QR60.6m.
While the Doha Municipality recorded the second-highest deal in terms of value for the sale of a multi-use building in the Al Sadd area in Doha Municipality, with a value of QR49.6m (2282 square meters).
Doha Municipality also recorded the third largest real estate deal, which amounted to QR41m in exchange for a housing complex in Al Mamoura area in the Doha Municipality on an area of 5372 square meters, while Al Shamal Municipality recorded the lowest number of real estate transaction.
