Minister of Transportation Kamelal-Wazir followed up the construction works of the New Administrative Capital (NAC) electric train on Sunday as the project must be accomplished within 24 months according to the instructions of President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi.
The minister checked Adly Mansour exchange station, the other stations of the project and the train bridge. The accomplishment rates are 22.4 percent for civil works, 24.6 percent for bridges construction, 62.8 percent for tunnels digging, 13.9 percent for crossing bridges, and 11.1 percent for the maintenance workshop dedicated to the electric train.
A consortium of Egyptian companies is executing the project, while the engines and rail cars will be supplied by international companies. The line extends over 70 kilometers passing through 12 stations and two tunnels, and crossing six bridges. Four over-bridges are constructed for cars above the railway.
An extension will be added southern NAC until the prospective International Sports City, as three stations will be established along the distance.
The line will start from Adly Mansour Station at Salam City that is reached by the third metro line, and will be divided into two branches at Robeiky. One will head north in parallel to the Regional Ring Road to the 10th of Ramadan City and the other will head South to the New Administrative Capital. The cities to be reached by the train are Al Salam, Obour, Shorouk, Mostaqbal, Robeiky, and NAC.
