More than 150 agricultural consignments, with a total weight of 36522 tons of fruits, vegetables, grains and legumes were imported through land, sea and air outlets in the Sultanate during the past two days.
A statement issued online by Oman News Agency ( ONA ), said, “ The Director General of Agricultural and Animal Marketing and Investment at the Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries says that the Omani market is blessed with an abundance of agricultural products, both local and imported, indicating that local production of vegetables is now at its peak and at competitive prices.“
He pointed out that: “During the past forty-eight hours, more than 150 agricultural consignments, with a total weight of 36522 tons, were imported through land, sea and air outlets in the Sultanate, which included various types of vegetables, fruits, grains and legumes.”
He also confirmed that: “The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries is working to follow up on agricultural exports and imports to meet the needs of the Omani market, by integrating with local agricultural products during the coming period, especially as we are heading towards the holy month of Ramadan.”
