President Michel Aoun met with President of the French Economic, Social and Environmental Council Patrick Bernasconi Tuesday and discussed cooperation between the Lebanese and French Economic Councils.
“We hope that this cooperation will be strengthened in several areas, most notably on the level of infrastructure, energy, education, and environment,” Aoun was quoted as saying in the state-run National News Agency.
Bernasconi met with Aoun at Baabda Palace during his official visit to Lebanon at the invitation of his Lebanese counterpart Charles Arbid.
During the meeting, Aoun reiterated his keenness to develop Lebanese-French relations. “Cooperation between the Lebanese and French economic councils will lead to optimizing performance and the exchange of expertise,” Aoun added.
For his part, Bernasconi stressed the importance of cooperation between the Lebanese and French councils and extended an official invitation to Aoun to visit the French Economic Council.
